Frequently asked questions...

Where are you based?

My home makeup studio is based in Sandhurst, Berkshire.

However, I do travel for weddings, photoshoots and pamper parties.

When should I have my bridal trial and how long does it take?

I recommend having your bridal makeup trial 2/3 months before your wedding day.

By then, you should have chosen your beautiful wedding dress and perhaps have a makeup look in mind. If you don't and need some inspiration that's perfectly fine, we can discuss this during your bridal trial and work together to create a look that's perfect for you.

Bridal trial's typically take 1.5 to 2 hours.

I feel it's always a good idea to wear a white top (or the colour of your wedding dress, so we can see how your makeup will look with the dress colour).

If you're happy with your bridal makeup and would like to book me for your wedding day, we can book you into my diary - a deposit will be required to secure your date.

My brides normally choose to purchase their chosen lip shade from the retailer, so that they can top it up if needed throughout the day after eating and drinking.

(Please see my price page for more information).

Do you require a deposit to secure my booking?

Yes, firstly we will book your bridal trial to make sure you are completely happy with your makeup - a non refundable deposit is required to secure your trial date.

If you're happy with your bridal makeup and you would like to book me for your wedding day, a non refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking will be required to secure your wedding date.

Example:- Trial = £40. If you're happy with the trial and would like to book me for your wedding day, I will ask you for 25% of the balance remaining for bridal makeup.

Bridal make up = £120, minus £40 already paid for the trial = £80

A 25% non refundable deposit is required to secure your day, 25% of £80 = £20

Once the deposit has been paid, this will leave you with £60 left to pay

** The remaining balance is due 7 days before your wedding day **

A £10 non refundable deposit is required to secure all other bookings for special occasions/proms, etc.

Your deposit will be deducted from your booking price and you will be required to pay the remaining balance on the day of your booking.

A deposit is taken as multiple booking requests maybe received and this ensures that you/other clients aren't disappointed unnecessarily and it also secures your appointment.

When I pay my deposit for my bridal makeup trial, does this also secure my wedding date?

Yes. Once your bridal makeup trial is booked, this will also secure the date.

Your wedding date will be secured until 48 hours after your bridal trial, after this time it will be removed from my diary and released for other bookings.

I will follow up with you the day after your trial to see if you would like to go ahead for the big day. If I do not have a response after numerous messages, it will be removed from my diary.

How far in advance should I book you for my wedding?

I am taking bookings 2/3 years in advance, so sooner the better to ensure your wedding date is secured.

I have a large bridal party, are you able to do the makeup for all of us?

If you have a large bridal party (6 or more) please ensure you advise me of the size of your party upon booking.

I do work with other local freelance makeup artists who assist me with large bridal parties and they can come and work alongside me to ensure everyone has their makeup done on the day and on time.

This is subject to assistants being available and will be confirmed at the point of booking.

I'm going to be late for my appointment, what should I do?

I kindly ask that my clients are on time for appointments.

If you are delayed, please let me know as soon as possible. If you are going to be late for your appointment, this will unfortunately have a knock on effect for my next client and the next…. who may be late for their special occasion as a result, which isn't fair.

Please note, inbetween my clients I have to re-prepare my studio and ensure all makeup brushes and tools are sanitized.

Therefore, if you are late by 15 minutes or more, your appointment will either be cancelled/or booked for a later time on the day, so that it doesn't effect my next clients.

** This is diary permitting, if I have no space on the day then you will forfeit your deposit **

For all bookings, I politely ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation - deposits are non refundable.

You can pay via bank transfer or cash.

Cheques are not accepted.

Do you charge travelling costs?

Yes, I will only charge travelling costs if I have to travel more than 15 miles of Sandhurst, Berkshire.

There will be a 45p per mile (to include return journey) added to your booking balance, as well as any car parking fees or congestion charges.

What if you are unwell on my wedding day?

Should the unavoidable happen and I am really too unwell to attend, I know many local makeup artists who I would contact in an attempt to find you a professional replacement.

I would of course, provide you with a full refund.

Please note: For all bridal makeup, notes of products, photos and makeup look details are taken. Therefore, should anyone need to take my place as your makeup artist due to extreme illness this will be passed on to ensure your look is not altered on the day.
